Special Thursday

What’s so special about Thursdays? Nothing much, except that the folks at my school planned for a picnic at the Botanical Gardens today. But I did not attend because I had a special day with mama and papa instead!

We drove to Holland Village to have lunch at place called 3 Monkeys. When we got there, I noticed that one of them had a problem with his eyes, another with his ears and the last one just had bad breath.

But I loved the place! I liked the African animal prints on the tables and chairs and enjoyed looking at the murals.

I pointed out that the “monkeys” in the murals were actually chimpanzees, so the restaurant should actually be called 3 Apes. But no one really listens to a five-year-old, right?

What else do I remember? Let’s see… I was given a free balloon (it’s floating above my bed now) and shared papa’s giant burger (it’s making its way down my gut now). Oh, and I loved my strawberry-banana drink.

If we go there again, let’s find a better time so that we have a place near by to park. I’ll try to remember where it was too: A row of banks, then a place that sells colourful windmills and piñatas, then the apes appear.
