Public face

Sunday, May 31st, 2009

Ooh, I am famous. Well, sort of famous…
Someone just contacted papa and asked him if she could use a photo of me when we were in Montreal (we were in a restaurant called Eggspectations). That person was organising an event to bring families together and raise funds for a school.
I don’t get anything for being [...]

Ta-ta, Marina!

Friday, May 29th, 2009

Today was our last day at Raffles Marina and I have had a blast so far.
We tried to soak it all in and we took a few more photos. Don’t expect anything great because papa took them instead of me!
I liked being the only kid there. My folks were relieved that we were there the [...]

Yellow submarine

Thursday, May 28th, 2009

Today I played in a yellow submarine. Not a real one, of course, but a kiddy-sized one in a pool at Raffles Marina.
Oh, did I forget to mention that yesterday? We are enjoying a short stay-cation at Raffles Marina.
Other than swimming with mama and playing arcade games with papa, I ate, walked, explored, and bowled. [...]

Bowling

Wednesday, May 27th, 2009

I tried my hand at bowling today. Real bowling, not Wii or iPod game bowling. And boy was it difficult!
Whose idea was it to make the balls so heavy and to put the pins so far away?
I tried to visualise the pins as the naughty kids in my class but I was not able to [...]

Carrot

Tuesday, May 26th, 2009

Over the weekend, I learn a new skill from grandma. And it involved a carrot!
I am not sure what the process is called. I know I have to hold the carrot in one hand and a tool in another. I rub the tool against the carrot and bits of the carrot fall off.
I don’t [...]

Spicy

Monday, May 25th, 2009

Now that I am five, I have been given a new target to hit by the time I am six. (My previous target was to wipe my own butt!)
My new target is to be able to gobble up spicy food like chilli and curry. Apparently the McDonald’s curry sauce does not count! While I have [...]

Private time

Friday, May 22nd, 2009

When I turned five, I decided that I should bathe on my own. I shower in my own bathroom and I only need papa’s help with the water heater setting.
I also dry up on my own. Scrub-a-dub here and rub-a-dub there. Then I emerge from the bathroom smelling like a rose! And no one gets [...]

Floaties

Thursday, May 21st, 2009

Do you know what floaties are?
To some, floaties might be swimming aids. You know, those balloon-like things you attach to yourself before jumping in the pool. To others, floaties might be a cute way of referring to ice cream floats or milkshakes.
To me, floaties are lumps of poo that refuse to sink.
I produce a couple [...]

Lost fame

Wednesday, May 20th, 2009

Yesterday I missed an opportunity to have my 15 minutes of fame.
A film crew visited my school and started shooting. (We didn’t shoot back so nobody got hurt… hee-hee!) The group was doing a special on early childhood education, so we went about our business as usual.
As I was leaving school, I said goodbye to [...]

Nickname

Tuesday, May 19th, 2009

We all have names. That’s how we know who we are. That I know. I also know that people sometimes give one another nicknames.
When I was younger, mama called me Peanut. I guess it was because I was small and was shaped like one. Come to think of it, she still calls me that sometimes!
Papa [...]
