Please be seated… and secured!

Wednesday, April 30th, 2008

I just found out that, while I was away, a tragic accident happened on the road (article). An eight-year-old boy was killed when he was flung out of a school bus. Why? The bus had no seat belts.
The same article said that of 4000 seat belt-related offences each year, only 30 were related to child-restraints. [...]

Not Worth Anything

Tuesday, April 29th, 2008

Papa tells me that there is no such thing as bad publicity. But there must be reasons why Northwest Airlines is not doing well and wants to hold hands with Delta Airlines (I hope they get cooties)! And I think I know some of them…
I wish papa had got tickets from some other airline. NWA [...]

Home again

Monday, April 28th, 2008

I’m back! Did you miss me?
Boy, was it a long flight! And my folks would like me to tell you that North West Airlines sucks. But more on that in another blog entry!
We had one last morning of shopping on the 26th. Of course we had to get some more Ghirardelli chocolate and also some [...]

Parked

Friday, April 25th, 2008

I am backdating this entry since my scribe (papa) was ill during our trip. Weak man!
I did quite a bit of walking today (see photos). I visited Union Square in the morning and the Golden Gate Park in the afternoon. The first park had lots of people and concrete while the second one had lots [...]

Fire engine tour

Today was the best day in San Francisco so far. But it didn’t seem that way at the beginning.
Mama needed to post a letter to a Bloomington buddy, so we walked to the nearest post office. In doing so, we had to walk through an area known at The Tenderloin. That may sound delicious, but [...]

Escape Man

Wednesday, April 23rd, 2008

Here’s another thing I forgot to mention: Public performances.
While we waited in line for a cable car ride back to our hotel, a strange man asked papa to truss him up in a straitjacket! That man then asked another man to chain him to a lamp post!
Click here to watch what happened!

Riding San Francisco

Wednesday, April 23rd, 2008

I really like San Francisco despite the unusually cool weather. I admit that I was a little under-prepared, but that gave mama the excuse to step into a three-story Old Navy and a Gap to get new clothes for me. You are welcome, mama!
I forgot to mention that I rode on the upper deck of [...]

Earth Day

Tuesday, April 22nd, 2008

Happy Earth Day everyone!
How did you spend the day? I went on street car and cable car rides with mama and papa… very environmentally friendly.
I also ate something very earthy today: Ghirardelli chocolate! I had more free samples than I could handle at the store here in San Francisco.
I also watched seals sunning themselves at [...]

Twas the night before Frisco

I am now at grandma’s place, but I am not going home yet. Mama and papa have joined me at the sleepover!
You might be wondering why. My grandparents live nearer to the airport than we do, and since we have to catch a 6am flight, it made sense to sleep over. That is what my [...]
