Air pee what?
Ahh… it’s been nice and cool of late. Papa tells me that the cooler weather has been due to something or someone called La Niña.
Did he get the name right? Perhaps it could be something like: Hey, who is making all that rain? It must be Nina, lah!
The rain is not so great if it prevents me from having playground time at school. But it is really great later in the day and at night because it cools things down.
The cooler weather also seems to have triggered the flowering of many trees on the roadside and in the forest near papa’s office. I see trees with red, orange, pink and white flowers! So pretty!
And then there were some flowers that I wouldn’t have noticed if mama had not drawn my attention to them. The orchids growing on some of the trees were blooming! Papa told me that they were called Pigeon Orchids (see information and photos).
Papa also told me that since they grew on trees, the orchids were called epiphytes. That is such a strange big word. It sounds like “air-pee-fights”. I know the cooler weather might make me pee more, but, eww… let us not think about how air-pee-fights happen!
