Restless

Hey, why I am blogging today? I thought weekends were supposed to be days of rest? I guess papa’s fingers were getting restless…

We are taking part in the Moon Cake Festival event in school on Monday evening. So mama decided to buy some mini moon cakes to share with my group mates. They can eat all they want because I am more interested in the lanterns!

I saw a few “Cars” movie lanterns at kiosks and asked papa if I could get one. Papa said that they were knock-offs and that we would make our own as part of my nursery school programme. Piffle!

I thought that “me making a lantern” actually meant “parents doing all the work!” (Isn’t that how things operate in Singapore?) But mama made a car body out of an old Ritz cracker box and got me to paint it! (Must everything be a lesson in recycling or not wasting things?)

Actually I didn’t mind so much because I love to paint. I am in my “pointillism” phase of my artistic development!

Guess what? My recycled car project went to waste because mama thought that the paper plates with mixed paint looked more interesting. It looks like my lantern is going to look like four funky wheels of a car stuck together instead!

Stay tuned for what happens tomorrow!
