Rats!
When my folks read to me, they like asking me about what I see on the pages. I love answering, whether or not my answers make sense to them! (They make perfect sense to me!)
I rediscovered one of my favourite books at the local library, Jamberry. Mama was reading it to me and papa when she noticed a mouse on one of the pages. She knew that I loved those furry rodents in my other favourite book, Christmas Mice, which I had not read in months!
Mama: What’s that?
Me: A mouse!
Mama: There’s another one. One mouse, two…
Me: Two mouses!
[Mama and papa laugh]
Mama: No, not “mouses”.
Me: Two… RATS!
[Mama and papa laugh, longer this time]
Mama: Remember the other book? The Christmas…
Me: Two mice!
Ok, so it’s mice. I remember now.
But will someone please tell me why you don’t have one house and two hice!
