Hot stuff

Thursday, August 31st, 2006

I have a thing for hot stuff. By hot, I mean spicy.
Back in Bloomington, I loved munching on habernero corn chips. Over here, I like tasting spicy sauces that mama and papa eat with their food.
But yesterday, I tried green chili! Ooh, talk about my tongue doing a tap dance! It was hot, but I [...]

Bonk!

Tuesday, August 29th, 2006

One of the bad things about going out on walkies here is facing the crowds. But among the good things are riding on buses and trains, taking escalators up and down, and getting carried away.
Yes, I like to take advantage of the fact my little legs get plenty tired. I then do the “jelly legs” [...]

Leopard?

Tuesday, August 29th, 2006

Each night mama covers my mossie bites with calamine lotion.
When it happened the first time, I was not very happy. I thought that all medicine was yucky and painful. But now I like getting all those “pinky dots” applied over those red spots. It’s ticklish!
After each application, I look like a weird flesh coloured leopard [...]

Good thing

Monday, August 28th, 2006

Ok, I’ll admit it. There is at least one good thing about staying in Singapore.
This is despite the heat and humidity and mossies and crowds and noise… hmm, where was I going with this?
Oh, yes, the good thing I discovered about Singapore: Places stay open till very late at night and there is public transport [...]

Anti-mossie

Sunday, August 27th, 2006

I am sweet and the mossies know it!
I now have one mossie bite on my face and several elsewhere on my body. The bump on my face looks like a pimple, so it looks as if I have prematurely reached puberty!
Mama has got several bites too, but papa hardly has any. Hmm, I must have [...]

No swings?

Saturday, August 26th, 2006

Why don’t playgrounds here have swings? There are slides and steps and obstacles to overcome. But there are no swings!
Did some VIP’s kid fly off a swing and clonk his noggin on the ground? After all, that is all it takes for a sweeping change to be made.
Maybe someone thought that it’s not all right [...]

Up & down

Friday, August 25th, 2006

Life has its ups and downs… and boy, are they fun! I am talking about lifts and escalators, of course!
I did not get to ride many lifts in Bloomington because it there weren’t many tall buildings there. But when we made a pit stop in New York, I rode in lifts about as often as [...]

Don’t like 2

Thursday, August 24th, 2006

I used to love going out on walkies back in Bloomington.
I still like going out here in Singapore and I still call them walkies, but there really isn’t much space to actually walk. So I ask to be carried instead.
I used to walk really long distances before I got tired. Now I take one [...]

Don’t like

Wednesday, August 23rd, 2006

Ever since coming here, I have developed an aversion to taking showers.
Don’t get me wrong, I like feeling fresh and smelling nice after a bath. I also admit that a shower can be fun sometimes.
But that is just it, I have showers now, not baths! There isn’t a bathtub in the bathroom. It should be [...]

Library?

Tuesday, August 22nd, 2006

Yay, mama finally brought me to a library today. Boo, it was not all that it could be!
Still, I was glad that I got to be close to my beloved books! I recognized many of the books that were on the shelves because I had seen them and borrowed them before in Bloomington.
What I want [...]
