Weird fun

I hate to admit it, but sometimes it helps to have parents who are weird!

Before I tell you why, let me outline the places I visited today: Central Park, Fifth Avenue, and SOHO.

While at Central Park, we also made a short excursion to the grand hall and book store in the Metropolitan Museum of Art. While at Fifth Avenue, papa got excited about seeing the new Apple store while I got excited about visited FAO Schwartz! While at SOHO, I fell asleep… it was so-ho-hum!

We not only took the subway again (choo-choo!) but also hopped on buses (wheels go round and round!). My folks enjoyed witnessing an argument break out between New Yorkers while on the bus. The black bus driver refused to move unless a white old lady folded up her metal cart. A Jamaican man (mon!) shouted repeatedly at the driver to give her a chance while another woman argued with the mon. Practically everyone on the bus had one opinion or other… it was like watching ‘live’ TV!

For meals, we had breakfast at a Greek-owned place; we ate hot dogs for lunch at Central Park; dinner was at a Japanese restaurant. Dessert was from an ice cream truck that parked right outside our hotel!

We did as some locals do by finding a spot on a road island to enjoy the ice cream while we watched the world go by. To our left and right were cars (mostly yellow cabs!). In the sky were planes from various airports. Directly below us were the rumblings of the subway trains from the vents on either side of us. It was fun!

Do I have any photo evidence of what I did today? Nope! Why? Because silly papa left the camera’s memory card in his laptop computer! What a Ph Dummy he is!
