Indy
Yesterday, my folks and I joined Aunty Meow in a drive up to Indianapolis. As a Hoosier, I thought that I should see my state capital!
While I had been to the Indy Zoo and Children’s Museum before, I had never been to the state capitol for the most important reason of all: To eat! Ooh, yummy!
We had Chinese New Year lunch (instead of dinner) at a place called “Forbidden City”. Ooh, mysterious!
I had never been to a Chinese restaurant for a CNY meal before and I found out why it was so forbidden! We had to wait in line and then pay to get in. Then my folks kept disappearing from the table only to return with food from the buffet! Ooh, magic!
Strange music played through the speakers that I had never heard before. I didn’t bop to it as there was no thumpity-thump to it, just lots of tong-tong-tong-chang! Ooh, culture!
But some people drowned out the music by talking very loud. Mama and papa hush me when they think I am loud, so I don’t know why they didn’t hush them! Ah, piffle!
After lunch we drove down to Monument Circle and a shopping mall. Mama got her “mall fix” when we strolled through Circle Centre. I just liked hopping on and off escalators! Ooh, moving stairs!
It was such a nice warm winter day that we decided to sit outside a place called the Chocolate Café and sip on hot chocolate! Ooh, lollit!
I enjoyed pointing at and naming the vehicles that went by. I also saw a horse-drawn carriage. I got up close to the horse and asked it if he could really draw and he said nay. I also wanted to know what he was carrying in the big bag underneath his tail… eww, poo!
