In or out?

Monday, June 20th, 2005

The battle between Entropy Boy (that’s me!) and Neatnic Man (papa) rages on.
I was playing with my crayons when Neatnic Man caught me off-guard. First he fooled me with some printed propaganda. Then he got me to put my crayons back into a container! Eek, I was actually being good and neat!
Fortunately I regained my [...]

Papa cake?

Sunday, June 19th, 2005

Mama tells me that today is Father’s Day and I am supposed to be nice to him. I think I will give him fewer orders today.
Mama is making papa a Nutella chocolate cake! When I heard that, I was inspired to bake papa my own cake. It’s got secret ingredients in it and takes several [...]

Handy work

Saturday, June 18th, 2005

Parents are strange creatures. They make the most mundane things out to be mega events.
Here is a video of me using my hands (2.94MB). Boring, huh? That was a minute of your life you aren’t going to get back!

Disappointed

Friday, June 17th, 2005

When I was younger, mama and papa would prompt me to wave goodbye and/or blow kisses. They would also ask me to smile whenever someone tried to interact with me.
Now I do all the above on my own. I even wave and smile at other kids in an attempt to make contact.
But I am [...]

Fire “flies”!

Thursday, June 16th, 2005

Ooh, I saw my first fireflies last night (1.04MB)! And one of them flashed right at me!
But they don’t look like flies. Papa says that they are actually beetles and they flash to communicate with other fireflies.
That sounds cool! Can I have something to make my butt flash like that too?

Fireflies?

Wednesday, June 15th, 2005

According to the weather forecast, we are going to enjoy a cool spell for the next few days.
Whew! I was beginning to boil in my diapers! I felt so sticky that papa said that he might scribble a note on me and stick me to the wall like a Post-It!
Along with the cool weather came [...]

Music

Wednesday, June 15th, 2005

Papa tells me that there is a saying that “music soothes the savage beast”. He also plays music for me at certain times of the day. Hey, I think I have been insulted!
But I don’t care. I like listening to music, especially stuff that has a strong beat to it (e.g. Rockapella’s “Blah Blah Blah” [...]

Cannot!

Monday, June 13th, 2005

I am learning that the expression “living life to the fullest” is just an expression. Whenever I try to do that, I am told “No!” or “Cannot!”
I cannot rearrange the CDs or DVDs on the shelf near the TV. I cannot play with the bicycle that stands so invitingly in the hallway. I cannot open [...]

Can!

Sunday, June 12th, 2005

We visited the farmers market yesterday and bought some yummy stuff with our WIC checks. Then we went home and ate some of that yummy stuff!
We bought organically grown broccoli, snow peas, and strawberries. Mama shelled the peas and added them to rice, onions, corn, mushrooms, and chicken. I had such a yummy dinner!
Just when [...]

New toys

Saturday, June 11th, 2005

The summer heat must have made papa go on a mad buying spree. He got me some new stuff to play with.
First he bought me a stacking toy. He said that this was a long overdue form of cognitive stimulation. I have no idea what he was talking about!
But I love to take the rings [...]
