Spring shots

Wednesday, April 20th, 2005

It was a lovely spring day today and so papa went to campus to take some photos.
The photos aren’t too bad. But they aren’t that good either because I’m not in any of them! Piffle!
Later in the afternoon, mama and papa had a picnic on a grassy area near the apartment. I was asleep in [...]

Papa’s face

Monday, April 18th, 2005

One of my favorite games is “The Parts of Papa’s Face” (2.75MB).
Papa tells me that we have been playing this game since I was born. I only remember vaguely. But each time we play it, we have lots of fun. After all, I have to show the old man some face…

Hey Val!

Monday, April 18th, 2005

Today I visited Valerie Theodas and her folks.
It was yet another party where the spotlight wasn’t supposed to shine on me. That’s what mama said anyway. I can’t wait till my first birthday so I can lord it over everyone else!
But I snuck a few moments of glory when I could. When Aunty Sock shared [...]

Watermelon

Sunday, April 17th, 2005

Mmm, watermelon is now in season and I chomped and slurped this fruit for the first time today. Where have you been, oh, sweet and juicy watermelon?
My folks took the precaution of taking my shirt off. They should have taken my pants off too! Watermelon bits and juice dribbled all over my chest and belly. [...]

Yum yum!

Saturday, April 16th, 2005

I love to eat! But not necessarily for the same reasons as you.
I don’t live to eat, I eat to live. And I live life to the fullest! I like to eat because I can express himself with my food! See me in action.

Spring

Friday, April 15th, 2005

I seemed to have missed much of the budding and flowering of plants in Bloomington while I was away. Everything looks so green now.
Fall is yellow, orange, and red. Winter is white when it’s snowing and brown when it isn’t. But it is a soothing green now and the weather is great on sunny days. [...]

I’m back!

Thursday, April 14th, 2005

I just flew back from Montréal and boy are my arms tired! (Papa says that is a very old joke but everything is new to me!)
Montréal has been a period of growth for me. Quite literally since three of my upper incisors are emerging! I hope they are nice and ready by my first birthday. [...]

Au revoir!

Wednesday, April 13th, 2005

It’s our second last day in Montréal and we return home tomorrow. We finally visited the botanical gardens (Jardin Botanique) and explored the underground city.
We did not see much of the gardens outside as winter had barely lost its grasp on the plants. Instead we explored the greenhouses and the “Butterflies Go Free” exhibition. The [...]

Bonjour!

Tuesday, April 12th, 2005

Bonjour! This is your friendly neighborhood baby reporting from Montréal!
Papa found out that the Botanic Gardens was closed on Monday so we visited a different part of Plateau Mont-Royal today. There were lots of colorful shops and murals but the weekend crowd was missing.
Papa had to attend the conference in the afternoon so we [...]

Cool places

Monday, April 11th, 2005

Montréal is a really cool place, literally and figuratively. It is still early spring here and I spotted some piles of snow in the shade.
I forgot to mention that we had dinner at the Latin Quarter on Friday and Chinatown yesterday. For stuff that they stuffed into their mouths, my folks paid through their [...]
