Thanks for…

Tomorrow is Thanksgiving. This is a holiday period that is not celebrated in Singapore, but as a U.S. citizen I am supposed to know about killing and eating turkeys to commemorate the killing of Native Americans and the eating away of their lands. Somewhere in the melee families get together, have a meal, and remember why they don’t meet and eat together more often.

Mama and papa say that I should also make a list of things to be thankful for. As far as I am concerned, they should be thankful to have me!

Papa insists that I should be thankful that we are here in Bloomington. Since mama is a full-time mom and papa is a lowly graduate student, both of them spend heaps of time with me. Papa also says that we do not have to worry about problems with HDB, COE, ERP, MRT, SBS, NTUC, MINDEF, IRAS, MOE, NIE, PAP, and KS syndrome. I am thankful I do not know what those things mean!

So happy Thanksgiving, everyone!
