Boy was I miffed when I heard the news!
Mama told me about a lady doctor back home in Singapore who tried to breastfeed her baby at the Esplanade. According to the letter to the Straits Times Forum, the lady covered herself up in order to keep everyone happy. But a security guard told her to leave!
Papa told me that this was not the first time something like this happened. There was a widely reported case in May 1999… back then I wasn’t even an itch in papa’s pants! Anyway, papa wrote about it in one of his early Flipside rants.
Did her baby get to eat take-out eventually? I know that when I am hungry, I feel like the world is ending and I make sure everyone knows. (I am like a Bose sound system: Small but with great acoustics!) So far I have drunk my moo at three restaurants, once outside the courthouse, and recently outside City Hall! No one batted an eyelid.
I hope that mama will be able to feed me in public when we return home. If not we will probably stage peaceful mass breastfeeding protests! If that fails, watch out because I will have teeth by then! I will bite the leg of anyone who gets in our way… bwah-hee-hee!
