Ready, set… Buzz!
Whew! I am taking a break… burrowing into position to be born is hard work!
Earlier this week, I decided that it is time for me to get into position, so I got my head wedged in the right place in mama’s body. It wasn’t easy, but I did it, little by little. My head is like a battering ram – mama says so. Now when I move, I can hear mama go ‘Ow!’ with real feeling. Even papa admonishes me if I had been too vigorous in my exercises. I am foncused; I thought they wanted me to exercise?! Parents… who can understand them?
I am not the only one who has been busy this week. All the adults around me are busy too! Mama has been busy listening to her nesting instinct; she has set up my bassinet with clean sheets, washed my clothes and packed them neatly in the baby organiser, started the scrapbook, and packed the bag for the hospital. Papa is also busily finishing his assignments and stuff. He wants to negotiate a later arrival date with me because of his work. Even Aunty Liz will be busy; she’s attending a two day conference in Indy next week, around the time I am supposed to make my big appearance! Hmm… I wonder what I can ask for if I agree to be born a couple of days later than scheduled, so that the adults can get their busy-ness out of the way and attend to me properly?!
Oh, grandpa and grandma are on their way to Bloomington. They arrived in Chicago this morning and will Greyhound their way here on Monday. I can’t wait to hear them!
